Abby-Jill
One of my closest friends passed away last week. I'm now sitting in cold, cloudy Chicago reading blogs and news articles about the life of Abby-Jill Brauhn. There are so many wonderful things said about her - things I couldn't agree with more. And I have to wonder what life is going to be like without her. What my life is going to be like without her. She was my biggest fan and biggest cheerleader. With the exception of my own mother, I don't think there's another person who believed in me and saw talent in me quite like she did. And so selfishly I mourn that loss in my life. I always felt so spoiled because she chose to be my friend. She was larger than life, filled a room with her energy and beauty - and loved me. Over the last week I have been flooded with memories of the last 10 years that we shared. Eventually I want to try to write these down to share with her family who now has such a huge void in her life. But right now I just want to keep reading about her and reading other people's memories of her. And then maybe I'll eat some Ben and Jerry's in her honor.

I've cried over a few of the tributes I've read. It's amazing to read so many nice things about someone and know that they are absolutely true.

Yes she loved you. She saw in you what He created you to be. What a gift!
That's one thing all who met her have in common - she saw us the way "He sees us" - and cheered us on!
That gift is a legacy we are now left with - to share - to give - to encourage others by seeing them the way He sees them.
And so Christ, loved us enough to gift us her. May we carry on... (and you do... and you will!!!)
Janelle and Jill - I am SO sorry for your loss of Abby Jill after this LONG journey you have walked with her. You are amazing women of loyalty to love her as much as you did...and I know that she impacted both of you more than words can express. May you be comforted by Jesus this week...
